Ethereum Vs. Bitcoin: What Sets Them Apart? Cryptocurrency Ether could potentially prove more lucrative than Bitcoin. It’s been flying in Bitcoin’s shadow, but investors are taking notice of its powerful financial technology.

i wont recomend it to you but you can mine with an external gpu. Apple hardware is runnig hot on its own if you use the Gpu in your Mac your mac will suffer from it and will die sooner because of the very high temperatures, The repair is very expensive and you will lose money by mining with the repair added. also the amount of ether you mine on a mac is very low and depending on your electicity cost its not worth it. what is profitable is mining with an external gpu something like a rx 580 does make you around 2-3 dollars a day but the cost of such a gpu is around 400-500 Dollars plus the case you need for it and if you have a mac that doesnt have thunderbolt 3 you need a adapter card for tbh2 to 3 and that will also cost around 40-50 dollars (ONLY the apple adapter works). this means you will have a very long time till you see any profits at all. Also etherum wants to switch their block chain technology to one that doesnt involve mining later this year so. No this isnt profitable! but if you want to buy a gpu for gaming and use mining to offest some of the cost this would be recomendable

Hi Miners! I am the co-founder of PiMP, the Portable instant Mining Platform. For the last 6 years we have made a Linux mining OS with all the packages, drivers and miners pre-installed – we believe its the easiest way to start mining with Linux. Once the OS image is booted and validated, a few simple commands is all it takes to select a miner and start mining.
We invite you to check it out; we have an active community on Discord and our own support forum where you can ask questions and get help both before and after you buy.
We are By Miners, For Miners, and we thank you for your support!

Minergate download was infected with an OSX boot virus.

Confirmed same on Windows. Don’t use any client that isn’t web based/script driven. Their all frauds and are reverse mining your rigs.

Very outdated. cpp-ethereum is inactive and not updated for 5 years! Parity isn’t a mining client, and Minergate is a scam.
WinEth 1.6.0.0 works like a charm as we are heading into 2021.

This article is garbage; Thank you for wasting people’s time. My conclusion is exactly what Ørjan commented above. Go ethereum and cpp-ethereum(nor branches) do not support any mac running Mojave or newer, Parity can’t mine and Minergate has a horrible reputation being deemed untrustworthy.
